The quote I am going to talk about today is “I’m finally convinced. I’m getting you a cell phone.” I am talking about this quote because it is very important to this book and kids her age always want a cell phone. The reason Susan carols dad said this is because her and Stevie where late coming back from the hotel thing they where at and both dads where worried and waiting for them in the lobby. Susan Carol is really good at lying and I think she gets it from her dad. When they got back to the lobby Susan made a whole story and it was all very convincing. My sister Matti just turned thirteen and she complained every day until she got her cell phone and my little brother Gahge is saying that he needs a cell phone and he is only in fifth grade. If I were Susan Carols dad I think I would get her a cell phone too because something bad really could have happened to them and there whole plan would have failed. That is my explanation and opinion on this quote. Now what would you say if you where Susan Carols father?

“Hold on there, kids, where do you think you are going?” (Feinstein 106). This quote was said by a security guard when Susan and Stevie where on there way to chip grabbers room. What’s funny is they got that far and when they where two rooms away from chips room they got stopped. They security guard was like you are not getting past and how did you even get to the top floor? The guy probably would have let Susan past but Stevie was with her that’s what I think. “If you’re lying, I’m calling the cops and you’re going to be arrested for trespassing.”(107). they security guard said this and he was going to go knock on chips door for her and ask chip if he was expecting a girl to come by. They guard was falling for her trick like everyone else she does this to. They walked over to chips room and the guards rang the door bell which was odd because they where at a hotel. When chip opened the door he was surprised and then Stevie’s said something to chip and he let them both in and said sorry to the guard for not telling him that his cousins where coming up to the room. Well that’s all I am saying for now.

“It’s easier to be a fan when you watch on TV.” (69). I picked this quote because it shows what Stevie and Susan are going through, and the fact that they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. This means when you watch the game on TV, you don’t really know what’s going on. “But if students can’t trust their teachers, who can they trust.” (69). That does seem true because you think your teachers would be there to help you and not hurt you. Chip grabber is a really good “student-athlete” and his dad is the coach or MSU but a guy who works under chips dad is black mailing hi son. If I was chip grabber I would punch that mega douche in the face but make sure I recorded what he said so I could show my dad so he could fir the fagot who is blackmailing me. In conclusion Stevie and Susan Carol Anderson really need to and want to figure out why the guy is blackmailing chip grabber, before he throws the game on Monday. If they can’t talk to chip about why before he throws the game they are screwed and so is MSU, don’t forget his dad might get fired. Both of the quotes show much Stevie and Susan care about what is going on. I need to keep reading because I want to know what will happen next. Last Shot

“All the basketball coaches in the world go to the final four” Stevie said “It’s like a convention or something” (Feinstein, 7). Stevie is the main character, and he loves college basket ball. The quote above tells a lot about the book. Stevie’s dream was to become a collegiate sports writer. One way for him to reach this goal was to enter a writing contest sponsored by the USBWA. So he wanted to enter the contest, to witness the final four and have the opportunity to report. All of this began when he was young. His dad would bring him with to games and this led to his dreams of being a sports writer.
I was happy when he won the chance to be the reporter for the games. But, he had to share this opportunity with Susan Carol. Susan was very smart, athletic and pretty and this was tough for Stevie. His first reaction to her was obvious, “The first thing he noticed was that she was about nine feet tall. He looked down at her feet, figuring she was wearing heels. More bad news. She was wearing flats”(12). He also did not like that she was a Duke fan. She was always one step ahead of him. She finished her report first, and had more connections to famous coaches, like Coach K. He eventually writes a story that a lot of people liked. Also, though he claims to not like her they hang out all the time.

hello, i picked the book last shot because i went to the library and asked them if they could recamend me a basketball or mystery book. then mrs. swenson showed me last shot which is like both put together.it also is long enough for class, and it looked good and it is good i am on page 68. my cousin devven also told me it was a good book so i got it.

overcoming odds
In a recent speech by Barrack Obama he was quoted as saying, “…that our nation has overcome obstacles in the past and that we will do so again” (Senator Tom Corbon). Here Barrack compares his issues to past presidents and overcoming tough situations. He is trying to fix economy, remove troops from the war, help give tax breaks to the poor and middle class, and help reform the medical and educational system. All of these issues are presenting obstacles to the new president. He also overcame obstacles by being voted in as the first black president. Everyday he faces people that do not agree with his ideas and must try to make other happy. He also is left fixing a lot of Bush’s problems. The rest of his life he will have to overcome obstacles to get the job done. He seems ready to do it though!

Love
Many musicians have written songs about love. In general these songs sell well, because they are nice and smooth. They are easy to relate to because everyone knows what love is. In the song, “Hey Mama”, Kanye West sings about the love of his mom. This is one of his earlier songs, and he wrote this before she died. He says, “You work late nights just to keep on the lights/Mommy got me training wheels so I could keep on my bike/And you would give anything in this world/Michael Jackson leather and a glove, but didn't give me a curl/And you never put no man over me/And I love you for that mommy cant you see?” In this quote he is thanking his mom for everything she has done. Whether this was working hard, putting him first or giving him what he needed. Overall love is an important theme in music and Literature.

war
The Iraq war is a major thing going on right now. I have read many articles on this and seen many videos and pictures of this so I know what it is about. My uncle is in the marines and has been to Iraq twice this is his second time right now. He thinks if the united states where not over seas they would be in our back yard instead of there’s. I strongly agree with my uncle but it is bush that put us in this situation and now President Obama has to get us out. That’s all I have to say on the war right now.

globial issue's
What up! I am talking about global issues and in detail global warming. We have global warming because he is ruining the environment with the burning of fuel and the lack of responsibility. The ozone layer is getting thinner as I type this blog. The state of California is also going to go under within the next century. The glaciers are melting so there will be flood. It’s like the movie the day after tomorrow, that is what they predict will happen in the near future. I really do think something like that will happen in my life time or in my grandkids lifetime.

holidays
Christmas is a much known holiday and a lot of people celebrate it. Christmas is when Jesus Christ was born he is the son of god and the son of the Virgin Mary. This is why it is called Christmas. When you celebrate Christmas your parents go out and get you presents to open on charismas morning. My parents always say it’s not about receiving its about giving. Santa is also the nation figure for Christmas he comes down your chimney or through your window and puts presents under the charismas tree. Now that is what Christmas is all about.

Bollywood is like Hollywood but in India unlike in California. There films are from India and they have all general classifications in one film. When I saw the film in English I thought it was really weird. It was like a musical but Indian style, and kind of like a soap opera. A lot of people said slum dog millionaire is really good movie from Bollywood. It I had to pick what to watch a Bollywood film or Hollywood I would pick Hollywood cause it is not as weird and I know it better. I think that is all folks.

When I think of culture I think of ethnicity and food. The other day I learned from Mong people how to make really egg rolls and them where fabulous. There culture is very different they eat a lot of rice and chicken. When the women have a baby the only thing they can eat is boiled chicken because it is there custom. They have a god like we do. The main thing in the Mong religion is that they absolutely respect there elders. They are Mong but they are classified as Asian. That is all I really have to say.

When President Baraock Obama became president it was awesome. I stayed up really late just to see who are new president would be when I found I was really happy. The news people where happy and it is so special that he is our president cause not long ago there was slavery and now we got a cool young black president. What do you think of Down syndrome? I think it is when you are born with a birth defect that you can not change. A girl has a little sister with Down syndrome and she thought it was weird and did not like it. Then she realized that she is human and she is the person who has influenced her the most. If I had a family member with Down syndrome I don’t now what it would be like but I think you would realize how hard life is for them. I know a few people with this disease and I feel sorry for them.

She is a well known politician for her stupidity and running for vice president with John McCain .When Sara Palin went into office she asked her old pastor from her assembly of god church “She asked for a biblical example of people who were great leaders and what was the secret of their leadership,” Mr. Riley said. She felt that her faith in god would help her run office. She did not want her political views to interrupt her religious views on problems and life. If she did not know god and how he works she would a scared woman. I think that Sara Palin is weird lady from Alaska.

Gender Roles
Are women really equal to men? A woman had a child and after her maternity leave. She told her husband why don’t I be the bread winner and you stay home with the baby. She was not as worried of switching from two incomes to one, but she needed to know how to budget and how to tell her children that they had to cut back. She thought after her husband asked her what she thought about the situation and she did not really know what to think or say.

I am comparing the indian culture to my culture, I am Lutheran Christian. in the indian culture there are alot of thig that women are not abile to do. This article could easliy be compared to the plane that landed in the hudson river. In this article 24 people died but the crash in the hudson river no one died. There was twenty eight people on that flight and ony four people survived, and in the hudson they landed in water and where abile to get help but a few people had some frost bite from the water temp and a few got hypothermia. The hudson river accident was due to birds flying into the motor and and the brzilian one was due to wheather conditions. In both of these articles the pilots where trying to make it to saftey, but you cant always make it so you have to make a quick decision even though it may not be the best one.

What happened in this article is alot like what happened in the idaho 1910 forest fire. Many people would not leave their homes until it was a life or death situation. The center for risk and community safty has done alot of resreach about alot of forest and wild fires. You never really ever know when something like this is gonna happen and there is not that many things you can do to prevent it. What you should do is leave your home when there is a forest fire and not trie to fight it yourself. In this forest fire they lost 181 people in one week.

I read an article about a man who killed a mother in ohio. he broke into the house when the mother was cooking super. he tied the mother to the chair and took the boy up stairs and sexualy assalted him, the mother broke free and stabed him with a knife from the kitchen in the side then he shot her twice with a shotgun. then took her car and the boy and left him at an intersection in ohio. i got this article from yahoo news.

i read an article about a plane that went into the hudson river. the reason the plane started going down is because a folk of birds got sucked into the ingine. the pilot is a very good pilot has been on for 30 years. when the plane hit the water people started rushing towards the exits. there was a lady that held on to her baby the whole time. many of the passengers had signs of hipothermia.

i read a news paper that was called the outdoor news and there was an article about a family friend. his name is gean and his wifes nam is shelly. gean is a duck hunter. he hunts duck all the time and he also studies them. he has a room in his house dedicated to birds/ducks he has more than 50 models in that room. he is very passionate in duck hunting.
